เมื่อวันที่ 14 กันยายน 2569 นางสาวจุลีพจน์ อิศรางกูร ณ อยุธยา รองอธิบดีกรมอเมริกาและแปซิฟิกใต้ ได้เยี่ยมชมสถานเอกอัครราชทูตปาปัวนิวกินีประจำประเทศไทย และพบหารือกับนาย Sini Michael Namori อุปทูตฯ

รองอธิบดีฯ ได้กล่าวแสดงความยินดีในโอกาสวันครบรอบ 51 ปี การประกาศเอกราชรัฐเอกราชปาปัวนิวกินีในวันที่ 16 กันยายน 2569 ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือเกี่ยวกับการจัดกิจกรรมเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ 50 ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ไทย-ปาปัวนิวกินีในปีนี้ (2569) ฝ่ายไทยโดยสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงแคนเบอร์รา ซึ่งมีเขตอาณาครอบคลุมปาปัวนิวกินี ได้จัดโครงการมุมกล้วยไม้ไทย ณ Port Moresby Nature Park กรุงพอร์ตมอร์สบี ปาปัวนิวกินี โดยมี Sir Bob Dadae ผู้สำเร็จราชการแห่งปาปัวนิวกินีเข้าร่วมเป็นประธานในงานพิธีเปิด และฝ่ายปาปัวนิวกินีเห็นพ้องที่จะจัดกิจกรรมในโอกาสดังกล่าวด้วย นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเรื่องแนวทางการกระชับความสัมพันธ์ทั้งในมิติการค้าและการลงทุน ความเชื่อมโยงในภูมิภาค ความร่วมมือเพื่อการพัฒนา และการพัฒนาทรัพยากรมนุษย์ รวมถึงเรื่องเปิดสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ อย่างเป็นทางการ

ในวันเดียวกัน รองอธิบดีฯ ได้พบหารือกับคณะผู้บริหารบริษัท วรรณทรัพย์ จำกัด ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทไทยที่เป็นผู้ลงทุนรายใหญ่ในปาปัวนิวกินี เพื่อหารือถึงการลงทุนของภาคเอกชนไทยและโอกาสการลงทุนในปาปัวนิวกินี โดยเฉพาะในภาคการส่งออกและการพัฒนาสินค้าเกษตรมูลค่าสูง อาทิ ข้าวและเมล็ดกาแฟ รวมถึงการพัฒนาทรัพยากรมนุษย์เพื่อการเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืน โดยรองอธิบดีฯ แจ้งความพร้อมของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศในการสนับสนุนการดำเนินงานของภาคเอกชนไทยในปาปัวนิวกินี และการขยายธุรกิจในภูมิภาค

On 14 September 2026, Ms. Chuliepote Isarankura Na Ayudhaya, Deputy Director-General, Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, visited the Embassy of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea in Thailand and met with Mr. Sini Michael Namori, Chargé d'affaires.

During the visit, the Deputy Director-General conveyed a message of congratulations ahead of Papua New Guinea’s 51st anniversary of independence on 16 September 2026. Both sides discussed activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Papua New Guinea this year (2026) and highlighted the latest opening ceremony of Thai Orchid Corner Exhibition by the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra, which was chaired by Sir Bob Dadae, Governor-General of Papua New Guinea, at Port Moresby Nature Park in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The Papua New Guinean side subsequently expressed interest in organizing commemorative activities to mark this pivotal milestone. Both parties then exchanged views on ways to strengthen bilateral ties, spanning trade and investment, connectivity, development cooperation, and technical capacity-building, whilst also discussing arrangements for the Embassy's official opening ceremony.

The Deputy Director-General also met with the executive team of Wonnapob Co., LTD., Thailand's leading investor in Papua New Guinea. They discussed investment opportunities for Thai in Papua New Guinea, particularly within export sector and development of value-added agricultural product, including rice and coffee beans, as well as human resource development to support sustainable growth. The Deputy Director-General also reaffirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' readiness to support the operations of Thai business in Papua New Guinea and to facilitate the expansion of their business activities across the region.
