เมื่อวันที่ 9–14 กันยายน 2569 นายวิชาวัฒน์ อิศรภักดี ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีประจำกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ
ได้เยือนแคนาดาในฐานะผู้แทนกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ไทย–แคนาดาในโอกาสครบรอบ 65 ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูต และผลักดันความร่วมมือที่เป็นรูปธรรมในทุกมิติโดยได้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรม ดังนี้

1. การพบหารือทวิภาคี

ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีฯ ได้พบหารือกับบุคคลสำคัญที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องกับการกำหนดนโยบายการต่างประเทศของแคนาดา ได้แก่ นาย Robert Oliphant สมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎรและเลขานุการรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศแคนาดาฝ่ายรัฐสภา เมื่อวันที่ 10 กันยายน 2569 ที่นครโทรอนโต และนาย Arun Thangaraj ปลัดกระทรวงการต่างประเทศแคนาดา เมื่อวันที่ 14 กันยายน 2569 ที่กรุงออตตาวา โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายเห็นพ้องถึงความสำคัญของการยกระดับความร่วมมือไทย–แคนาดาในด้านเศรษฐกิจ ความมั่นคง โดยเฉพาะการต่อต้านอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติและการหลอกลวงออนไลน์ ความมั่นคงทางไซเบอร์ พลังงาน เทคโนโลยีสีเขียว เกษตรอัจฉริยะ และดิจิทัล ตลอดจนความร่วมมือในกรอบอาเซียน–แคนาดา รวมถึงการผลักดันการแลกเปลี่ยนการเยือนระดับสูง และการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรีทั้งในกรอบทวิภาคีและกรอบอาเซียน–แคนาดา เพื่อเสริมสร้างความเชื่อมโยงทางเศรษฐกิจและห่วงโซ่อุปทานระหว่างสองประเทศให้เข้มแข็งยิ่งขึ้น

2. การบรรยายทางวิชาการ ณ ทำเนียบเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงออตตาวา

   เมื่อวันที่ 11 กันยายน 2569 ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีฯ ได้บรรยายในหัวข้อ “Shaping the Next Chapter of Thailand–Canada Relations” ที่ทำเนียบเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงออตตาวา โดยมีผู้แทนจากกระทรวงการต่างประเทศแคนาดา ภาคเอกชน สถาบันวิชาการ และคณะทูตานุทูต เข้าร่วม โดยได้เน้นย้ำว่า ไทยและแคนาดาเป็นหุ้นส่วนโดยธรรมชาติที่มีค่านิยมร่วมกัน ทั้งด้านประชาธิปไตย การยึดมั่นกฎหมายระหว่างประเทศ และการสนับสนุนระบบพหุภาคี พร้อมทั้งเน้นย้ำว่า โอกาสครบรอบ 65 ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตของทั้งสองประเทศเป็นช่วงเวลาที่เหมาะสมในการผลักดันความร่วมมือให้เป็นรูปธรรมมากยิ่งขึ้น โดยเฉพาะด้านเศรษฐกิจ ความมั่นคง และการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรี ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับนโยบายต่างประเทศของไทยภายใต้รัฐบาลชุดปัจจุบันที่มุ่งเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์กับประเทศขนาดกลางมากขึ้น

3. กิจกรรมการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างประชาชน

   ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีฯ ยังได้เข้าร่วมและกล่าวเปิดกิจกรรมสำคัญของสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงออตตาวา คือ งาน Thai Festival Ottawa–Gatineau 2026 เมื่อวันที่ 12 กันยายน 2569 ณ ศาลาว่าการเมือง Gatineau และการแข่งขัน Thailand–Canada Muaythai Challenge 2026 ณ พิพิธภัณฑ์สงครามแคนาดา ซึ่งกิจกรรมดังกล่าวเน้นการส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประชาชนของทั้งสองประเทศให้แน่นแฟ้นยิ่งขึ้น โดยนำเสนอความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรมของไทยผ่านการแสดงด้านวัฒนธรรม อาหารไทย และมวยไทย

From 9 to 14 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, visited Canada as the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to advance Thailand–Canada relations on the occasion of the 65^th anniversary of diplomatic relations and to promote concrete cooperation across all sectors. Key activities during the visit included:

1. Bilateral Meetings

    The Vice Minister held bilateral discussions with key figures responsible for shaping Canada’s foreign policy, namely Mr. Robert Oliphant, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, on 10 September 2026 in Toronto, and Mr. Arun Thangaraj, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, on 14 September 2026 in Ottawa. Both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening economic partnership and security cooperation, particularly on countering transnational crime and online scams, as well as cooperation on cybersecurity, energy, green technology, smart agriculture, and digital development, both bilaterally and within the ASEAN-Canada framework. They also emphasized the value of high‑level exchanges, using the momentum of the 65^th anniversary of diplomatic relations to advance cooperation further. The two sides underscored the importance of the ASEAN–Canada Free Trade Agreement and the Thailand–Canada Free Trade Agreement to further enhance economic connectivity and supply chain resilience between the two countries.

2. Academic Talk at the Ambassador’s Residence in Ottawa

    On 11 September 2026, the Vice Minister gave a luncheon talk under the theme “Shaping the Next Chapter of Thailand–Canada Relations” at the Thai Residence, with the attendance of representatives from Global Affairs Canada, the private sector, academic institutions, and the diplomatic corps. The Vice Minister underscored that Thailand and Canada are natural partners sharing common values, including democracy, adherence to international law, and support for multilateralism. He highlighted that the 65^th anniversary of diplomatic relations presents a timely opportunity to advance cooperation in a more concrete manner, particularly in economic, security, and trade‑related areas, in line with Thailand’s foreign policy priorities under the current Government.

3. People‑to‑People Activities

    The Vice Minister also presided over public‑diplomacy events organized by the Royal Thai Embassy, Ottawa, including the Thai Festival Ottawa–Gatineau 2026 on 12 September 2026 at Gatineau City Hall, and the Thailand–Canada Muaythai Challenge 2026 at the Canadian War Museum. These events played an important role in strengthening people‑to‑people ties between Thailand and Canada by showcasing Thai cultural diversity through cultural performances, Thai cuisine, and Muaythai, thereby deepening the friendship between the peoples of both countries.
