นายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ มีกำหนดร่วมคณะนายอนุทิน ชาญวีรกูล นายกรัฐมนตรี เดินทางเยือนเครือรัฐออสเตรเลียและนิวซีแลนด์อย่างเป็นทางการ ระหว่างวันที่ 17 - 22 สิงหาคม 2569 ตามคำเชิญของนายกรัฐมนตรีออสเตรเลียและนายกรัฐมนตรีนิวซีแลนด์
ในการเยือนเครือรัฐออสเตรเลียในครั้งนี้ นายกรัฐมนตรีจะเข้าเยี่ยมคารวะผู้สำเร็จราชการแห่งเครือรัฐออสเตรเลีย และผู้สำเร็จราชการแห่งรัฐนิวเซาท์เวลส์ พบหารือกับนายกรัฐมนตรีเครือรัฐออสเตรเลียและคณะ รวมถึงพบปะภาคเอกชนไทยและออสเตรเลีย เพื่อส่งเสริมความเชื่อมโยงทางการค้า การลงทุน และความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจ ภายใต้ความเป็นหุ้นส่วนทางยุทธศาสตร์ นอกจากนี้ จะร่วมลงนามในแถลงการณ์ร่วมว่าด้วยอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติ และว่าด้วยการกระชับความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจ ตลอดจนเยี่ยมชม Thai Town และพบปะชุมชนไทยในนครซิดนีย์
ในการเยือนนิวซีแลนด์ นายกรัฐมนตรีจะพบหารือกับนายกรัฐมนตรีนิวซีแลนด์ พบปะภาคเอกชนไทยและนิวซีแลนด์ เพื่อส่งเสริมการค้า การลงทุน และความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจให้เข้มแข็งยิ่งขึ้น นอกจากนี้ จะร่วมลงนามในปฏิญญาร่วมว่าด้วยความเป็นหุ้นส่วนทางยุทธศาสตร์ระหว่างราชอาณาจักรไทยกับนิวซีแลนด์ เพื่อยกระดับความสัมพันธ์สู่ความเป็นหุ้นส่วนยุทธศาสตร์ ในโอกาสการเฉลิมฉลองการครบรอบ 70 ปีทางการทูตระหว่างกันในปีนี้ และเป็นสักขีพยานการลงนามในเอกสารความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยและนิวซีแลนด์ เพื่อเสริมสร้างความมั่นคงทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคม รวมถึงการพัฒนาศักยภาพของบุคลากรไทย โดยเฉพาะในด้านการศึกษา วัฒนธรรม และความร่วมมือระหว่างหน่วยงานตำรวจของทั้งสองประเทศ
อนึ่ง การเยือนเครือรัฐออสเตรเลียอย่างเป็นทางการในครั้งนี้ เป็นการเยือนระดับนายกรัฐมนตรีครั้งแรกนับตั้งแต่เข้ารับตำแหน่ง และเป็นการเยือนระดับนายกรัฐมนตรีในรอบ 14 ปี โดยรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศทั้งสองฝ่ายจะร่วมลงนามในแผนปฏิบัติการร่วมไทย - ออสเตรเลีย ฉบับที่ 2 (ค.ศ. 2026 – 2029) เพื่อเป็นกรอบแผนงานในการสานต่อและเพิ่มพูนความร่วมมือในฐานะหุ้นส่วนทางยุทธศาสตร์อย่างเป็นรูปธรรมต่อไป โดยเฉพาะในโอกาสที่ประเทศทั้งสองจะเฉลิมฉลองการครบรอบ 75 ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตในปี 2570 ในขณะที่การเยือนนิวซีแลนด์ เป็นการเยือนอย่างเป็นทางการครั้งแรกของนายกรัฐมนตรีนับตั้งแต่เข้ารับตำแหน่ง และเป็นการเยือนระดับนายกรัฐมนตรีไทยในรอบ 13 ปี เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองการครบรอบ 70 ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทยกับนิวซีแลนด์ในปี 2569 ซึ่งสะท้อนความสัมพันธ์ที่ใกล้ชิดระหว่างสองประเทศ


H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to participate in the Official Visit of H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, to the Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand on 17 - 22 August 2026, at the invitations of the Australian Prime Minister and the New Zealand Prime Minister.
During his visit to the Commonwealth of Australia, the Prime Minister is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and the Governor of New South Wales, and to meet with the Prime Minister of Australia and his delegation. The Prime Minister will also engage with Thai and Australian business leaders, with a view to promoting greater trade and investment, strengthening economic connectivity, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation under the Thailand - Australia Strategic Partnership. In addition, he is scheduled to sign the Joint Statements on Transnational Crime and on Deepening Economic Engagement, as well as to visit Thai town and meet with members of the Thai community in Sydney.
During his visit to New Zealand, the Prime Minister will meet with the Prime Minister of New Zealand and engage with Thai and New Zealand business leaders to promote bilateral trade and investment and further strengthen economic cooperation. In addition, the two Prime Ministers will sign the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Partnership between the Kingdom of Thailand and New Zealand, formally elevating bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year. The two leaders will also witness the signing of cooperation documents aimed at strengthening economic and social security and enhancing the capacity of Thai personnel, particularly in the areas of education, culture, and police cooperation.
This visit marks the first prime-ministerial Official Visit to the Commonwealth of Australia since assuming office and the first by a Thai Prime Minister in 14 years. During the visit, the Foreign Ministers of Thailand and Australia are scheduled to sign Phase II of the Joint Plan of Action (2026 - 2029), which will serve as a strategic roadmap for further deepening and expanding tangible cooperation between the two countries, particularly as Thailand and Australia prepare to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027. This will also be the Prime Minister’s first Official Visit to New Zealand since assuming office and the first visit by a Thai Prime Minister in 13 years, marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and New Zealand in 2026 and reflecting the close relations between the two countries.
