ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีฯ ได้ชี้ว่า ความก้าวหน้าของเทคโนโลยีปัญญาประดิษฐ์กำลังสร้างโอกาสใหม่ในหลายมิติ แต่ก็นำมาซึ่งความต้องการใช้พลังงานและทรัพยากรที่สูงขึ้น ซึ่งอาจส่งผลต่อความมั่นคงทางพลังงานและแผนการเปลี่ยนผ่านสู่พลังงานหมุนเวียน การเสวนาครั้งนี้จึงเป็นเวทีสำคัญในการแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองและต่อยอดแนวคิดเพื่อให้การพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีดำเนินควบคู่ไปกับการเสริมสร้างความมั่นคงทางพลังงานและการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน

ดร. พูลพัฒน์ ลีสมบัติไพบูลย์ เลขาธิการสำนักงานคณะกรรมการกำกับกิจการพลังงาน (กกพ.) กล่าวสุนทรพจน์นำเสนอแนวทางยุทธศาสตร์ด้านพลังงาน การเปลี่ยนผ่านทางพลังงาน และการกำกับดูแลด้านพลังงาน จากนั้นเป็นการเสวนาแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองโดยผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจากหลากหลายสาขา เกี่ยวกับการสร้างสมดุลระหว่างความมั่นคงทางพลังงาน การเข้าถึงพลังงาน และความยั่งยืน

การเสวนาย้ำถึงความสำคัญของการเตรียมความพร้อมต่อภูมิทัศน์ด้านพลังงานที่กำลังเปลี่ยนแปลงผ่านการบูรณาการความเสี่ยงด้านสภาพภูมิอากาศเข้ากับการตัดสินใจและการจัดสรรเงินทุนของภาคธุรกิจ ควบคู่กับการมีนโยบายภาครัฐที่เอื้อต่อการลงทุนและการเปลี่ยนผ่านด้านพลังงานอย่างยั่งยืน

มูลนิธิฟุลไบรท์และมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงยังได้ลงนามในบันทึกความเข้าใจเพื่อวางกรอบความร่วมมือทางวิชาการและการศึกษาอย่างครอบคลุมระหว่างกันด้วย

 

On 26 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Thailand-U.S. Educational Foundation (TUSEF), presided over and delivered opening remarks at the 2026 Fulbright Dialogue on “Fueling the Future: Energy Security in the Age of AI.” The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the U.S. Embassy in Thailand, and Fulbright Thailand to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Fulbright program and the 250th anniversary of American independence.

The Vice Minister highlighted the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), which has created new opportunities across multiple sectors. At the same time, the growing use of AI has led to rising demand for energy and resources, potentially posing challenges to energy security and the transition to renewable energy. The Dialogue therefore provided an important platform for exchanging views and building on ideas for how technological advancement can go hand in hand with strengthened energy security and sustainable development.

Dr. Poonpat Leesombatpiboon, Secretary-General of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), delivered a keynote address outlining perspectives on energy strategy, energy transition, and energy regulation. This was followed by a panel discussion exchanging views on balancing energy security, access to energy, and sustainability.

The discussion underscored the importance of preparing for a changing energy landscape by integrating climate-related risks into business decision-making and capital allocation, alongside public policies that facilitate investment and a sustainable energy transition.

TUSEF and Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) also signed a MOU to establish a comprehensive framework for academic and educational cooperation between the two institutions.
