    เมื่อวันที่ ๒๖ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๖๔ ระหว่างเวลา ๐๙.๓๐-๑๐.๓๐ น. นายดอน ปรมัตถ์วินัย รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้หารือทางโทรศัพท์กับนางมาริส เพยน์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศออสเตรเลีย เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นเกี่ยวกับพัฒนาการเชิงยุทธศาสตร์ในภูมิภาครวมทั้งแนวทางการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยและออสเตรเลียในฐานะที่เป็นหุ้นส่วนทางยุทธศาสตร์ให้แน่นแฟ้นมากขึ้น

   

    ในโอกาสดังกล่าว รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้แสดงความยินดีที่ออสเตรเลียได้ผ่อนคลายมาตรการเดินทางเข้าประเทศโดยอนุญาตให้นักเรียนและนักศึกษาต่างชาติที่ได้รับวัคซีนครบโดส สามารถเดินทางเข้าออสเตรเลียตั้งแต่วันที่ ๑ ธันวาคม ๒๕๖๔ รวมทั้งสนับสนุนการยกระดับความสัมพันธ์การเป็นหุ้นส่วนทางยุทธศาสตร์แบบรอบด้าน (Comprehensive Strategic Partnership) ของกรอบอาเซียน-ออสเตรเลีย นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายแสดงความมุ่งมั่นที่จะกระชับความร่วมมือด้านการพัฒนาในอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง โดยเฉพาะผ่านกรอบยุทธศาสตร์ความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจ  อิรวดี – เจ้าพระยา – แม่โขง (ACMECS) และเห็นพ้องที่จะเพิ่มพูนความร่วมมือในด้านต่าง ๆ โดยเฉพาะการรับมือการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศและการแบ่งปันองค์ความรู้ด้านเทคโนโลยีที่ปล่อยมลพิษต่ำ ตลอดจนความร่วมมือด้านความมั่นคงทางไซเบอร์ภายใต้บริบทความท้าทายใหม่ ๆ เพื่อสนับสนุนการฟื้นฟูจากผลกระทบโควิด-๑๙ ภายใต้การเป็นหุ้นส่วนทางยุทธศาสตร์ระหว่างไทย-ออสเตรเลีย ซึ่งจะเฉลิมฉลองโอกาสครบรอบ ๗๐ ปีของการสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตในปี ๒๕๖๕

 

    ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้แลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นเกี่ยวกับพัฒนาการเชิงยุทธศาสตร์ในภูมิภาคอินโด-แปซิฟิก และสถานการณ์ในภูมิภาค รวมถึงสถานการณ์ในเมียนมาและการให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรมแก่ชาวเมียนมาด้วย

Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia ways of strengthening cooperation to drive Post COVID-19 recovery and in light of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Australia in 2022

 

    On 26 November 2021 at 09.30-10.30 hrs., His Excellency Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed over a telephone conversation with Senator the Honourable Marise Payne, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia, on strategic developments in the region and ways to strengthen cooperation between Thailand and Australia under the Strategic Partnership.

 

    On this occasion, the Deputy Prime and Foreign Minister expressed appreciation that Australia has eased border restrictions to allow fully vaccinated international students to return to Australia from 1st December 2021 onwards and also the support for the ASEAN-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.  Both sides reaffirmed a strong commitment to enhancing close development cooperation in the Mekong Sub-region, including under Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) framework. In addition, both sides also agreed to explore new venues of cooperation into concrete projects under Thailand-Australia Strategic Partnership to drive the post COVID-19 recovery and to commemorate the upcoming 70th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2022, particularly in the areas of climate mitigation and adaptation, including low-emissions technology, as well as cyber security.

 

    Both sides also exchanged views on strategic development in the Indo-pacific region and regional situation, including the situation in Myanmar and humanitarian assistance to Myanmar.
