นางสาวบาจรีย์ พึ่งพักตร์ รองอธิบดีกรมอเมริกาและแปซิฟิกใต้ นำคณะนักธุรกิจเยือนนครรีโอเดจาเนโร ภายใต้โครงการนำคณะนักธุรกิจเยือนลาตินอเมริกา (Latin Link) ประจำปี ๒๕๖๗ ระหว่างวันที่ ๑๓-๑๔ สิงหาคม ๒๕๖๗ เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านการค้าการลงทุน การท่องเที่ยว และเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์ระหว่างไทยกับบราซิล

ในการเยือนครั้งนี้ คณะได้พบหารือกับผู้บริหารสภาอุตสาหกรรมรัฐรีโอเดจาเนโร เพื่อรับฟังข้อมูลที่เป็นประโยชน์สำหรับการประกอบธุรกิจในบราซิล โดยเฉพาะรัฐรีโอเดจาเนโร ทั้งโอกาสและกฎระเบียบที่เกี่ยวข้อง

นอกจากนี้ รองอธิบดีกรมอเมริกาฯ ยังได้พบหารือกับผู้แทน Visit Rio หน่วยงานส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวนครรีโอเดจาเนโร เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นและประสบการณ์ในการส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยว รวมทั้งได้พบหารือกับผู้บริหารกลุ่มสื่อ Globo ซึ่งเป็นสื่อสารมวลชนรายใหญ่ที่สุดในบราซิล เพื่อแสวงหาความร่วมมือด้านเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์และส่งเสริมซอฟท์พาวเวอร์ของไทย

ระหว่างการเยือน คณะได้เข้าชมงาน Rio Innovation Week 2024  ซึ่งเป็นงานแสดงสินค้าด้านเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมนานาชาติที่มีผู้ประกอบการ โดยเฉพาะกลุ่ม Start-up ทั้งจากบราซิลและต่างประเทศในสาขาต่าง ๆ เช่น Fintech เศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน เข้าร่วมงาน

On 13-14 August 2024, Miss Bacharee Puengpak, Deputy Director-General, Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, led a Thai business delegation to visit Rio de Janeiro, under Latin Link 2024 Project, with the aim of promoting cooperation in trade and investment, tourism and creative economy between Thailand and Brazil. 

During the visit, the Thai delegation met with executives of Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro (FIRJAN). A briefing on opportunities and regulations for doing business with Brazil, particularly in the State of Rio de Janeiro, was presented to the Thai delegation.

The Deputy Director-General also hosted dinner at a Thai restaurant for representatives of Visit Rio, tourism promotion agency of Rio de Janeiro, whereby both sides exchanged views and experiences on tourism promotion. The Thai  delegation also had a meeting with executives of Globo, the most important media group in Brazil, to explore possible cooperation in creative economy and Thai soft power promotion.

The delegation also attended Rio Innovation Week 2024, an international technology and innovation event in which entrepreneurs from several sectors, for instance, Fintech and circular economy, from around the world, are present.
