เมื่อวันที่ ๒๙ - ๓๐ สิงหาคม ๒๕๖๗ นายบัญชา ยืนยงจงเจริญ อัครราชทูต/รองหัวหน้าสำนักงาน สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงโซล ผู้แทนกระทรวงการต่างประเทศเป็นหัวหน้าคณะฝ่ายไทยเข้าร่วมการประชุมเชิงปฏิบัติการ Cyber Secretariat Workshop ครั้งที่ ๑๔ ภายใต้กรอบความร่วมมือ The Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) และการประชุมที่เกี่ยวข้อง ณ สาธารณรัฐเกาหลี

การประชุม FEALAC Cyber Secretariat Workshop ครั้งที่ ๑๔ จัดขึ้นภายใต้หัวข้อ “Shaping the Future of FEALAC Cooperation in the Digital Era: A vision for the Next 25 Years” เมื่อวันที่ ๒๙ สิงหาคม ๒๕๖๗ โดยมีผู้แทนประเทศสมาชิก FEALAC ได้ร่วมนำเสนอข้อมูลและข้อคิดเห็นในการส่งเสริมและขับเคลื่อนความร่วมมือระหว่างภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกและลาตินอเมริกา โดยเฉพาะประเด็นการเปลี่ยนผ่านสู่ยุคดิจิทัล โดยอัครราชทูตได้เน้นย้ำถึงบทบาทของไทยในการดำเนินโครงการระดับชาติและภูมิภาค เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือภายใต้กรอบ FEALAC ในช่วงที่ผ่านมา

นอกจากนี้ เมื่อวันที่ ๓๐ สิงหาคม ๒๕๖๗ คณะผู้แทนไทยได้เข้าร่วมการประชุม FEALAC Interim Coordination Meeting ซึ่งที่ประชุมเห็นชอบให้เร่งติดตามการสรรหาประเทศผู้ประสานงานฯ ใหม่ ตามแนวทางเอกสาร Concept Note on Rotating Mechanism of FEALAC และ Term of Reference (TOR) for the voluntary alphabetical system for the selection of the FEALAC Regional Coordinators โดยอัครราชทูตฯ ได้กล่าวสนับสนุนการดำเนินการดังกล่าว และเน้นย้ำความสำคัญในการทาบทามประเทศทียังไม่เคยดำรงตำแหน่งผู้ประสานงานฯ เพื่อให้สมาชิกทุกประเทศมีโอกาสในการขับเคลื่อน FEALAC และคณะฯ ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุม Steering Committee of the FEALAC Trust Fund ครั้งที่ ๔ ซึ่งที่ประชุมได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับข้อเสนอในการเปิดโอกาสให้สมาชิกที่เคยบริจาคเงินให้แก่ FELAC Multi-Donor Trust Fund สามารถใช้งบประมาณสำหรับการดำเนินการ FEALAC-wide Project โดยฝ่ายไทยได้สนับสนุนข้อเสนอดังกล่าว เพื่อจูงใจให้ประเทศสมาชิกบริจาคเงินเข้ากองทุน และกระตุ้นให้เกิดการดำเนินโครงการภายใต้ FEALAC มากขึ้น

On 29 – 30 August 2024, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul, led the Thai delegation to participate in the 14th Cyber Secretariat Workshop under the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) and related meetings in the Republic of Korea.

The 14th Cyber Secretariat Workshop, held on 29 August 2024, focused on the theme “Shaping the Future of FEALAC Cooperation in the Digital Era: A Vision for the Next 25 Years.” During the workshop, representatives from FEALAC member countries shared their insights and perspectives on promoting and advancing cooperation between East Asia and Latin America over the next 25 years, particularly in the area of digital transformation. Mr. Bancha highlighted Thailand's contributions to both national and regional FEALAC projects over the years.

On 30 August 2024, the Thai delegation participated in the FEALAC Interim Coordination Meeting, where participants agreed to expedite the selection of new regional coordinators following the guidelines set out in the Concept Note on the Rotating Mechanism of FEALAC and the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the voluntary alphabetical system for the selection of FEALAC Regional Coordinators. Mr. Bancha expressed support for this initiative and emphasized the importance of engaging countries that have not yet had the opportunity to serve as regional coordinators. Additionally, during the 4th Steering Committee of the FEALAC Trust Fund, the participants discussed the proposal to allow donor countries to utilize the FEALAC Multi-Donor Trust Fund for FEALAC-wide projects. Thailand supported this proposal as a means to encourage more member countries to contribute to the Trust Fund and to stimulate further project implementation under FEALAC.
