เมื่อวันที่ ๑๘ กุมภาพันธ์ ๒๕๖๙ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ร่วมกับสถานเอกอัครราชทูตแคนาดาประจำประเทศไทย ได้จัดงานเปิดตัวตราสัญลักษณ์เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองวาระครบรอบ ๖๕ ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทยกับแคนาดา ณ วิเทศสโมสร กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ โดยมีนายศรัณย์ เจริญสุวรรณ เลขานุการรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ และนางสาวปิง คิตนีกอน เอกอัครราชทูตแคนาดาประจำประเทศไทยเป็นประธานกล่าวเปิดงานในพิธี โดยมีแขกผู้มีเกียรติจากหน่วยงานภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน ภาคการศึกษา และภาคประชาสังคม ตลอดจนอดีตเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงออตตาวา ซึ่งมีบทบาทในการร่วมขับเคลื่อนความสัมพันธ์ไทย-แคนาดาเข้าร่วมงานกว่า ๑๐๐ คน

ในโอกาสนี้ เลขานุการรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้กล่าวแสดงความเสียใจต่อเหตุการณ์โศกนาฏกรรมที่เมือง Tumbler Ridge รัฐบริติชโคลัมเบียเมื่อวันที่ ๑๐ กุมภาพันธ์ ๒๕๖๙ และได้กล่าวถึงความสัมพันธ์อันราบรื่นและสร้างสรรค์ระหว่างไทยกับแคนาดานับตั้งแต่การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตเมื่อวันที่ ๘ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๐๔ โดยตลอดระยะเวลาเกือบ ๖๕ ปีที่ผ่านมา ความร่วมมือของทั้งสองประเทศได้ขยายตัวอย่างต่อเนื่องและครอบคลุมหลากหลายสาขา ทั้งด้านการเมืองและความมั่นคง การค้าและการลงทุน ตลอดจนความร่วมมือด้านการศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยี และนวัตกรรม นอกจากนี้ ยังได้กล่าวถึงความสำคัญของความสัมพันธ์ระดับประชาชน ซึ่งเป็นรากฐานสำคัญที่ช่วยเสริมสร้างความเข้าใจและความใกล้ชิดระหว่างสองประเทศให้แน่นแฟ้นยิ่งขึ้น ในคำกล่าวเปิดงานของเอกอัครราชทูตแคนาดาประจำประเทศไทยได้
เน้นย้ำว่า ไทยและแคนาดาเป็นหุ้นส่วนที่ตั้งอยู่บนพื้นฐานของมิตรภาพ ความเคารพซึ่งกันและกัน และความมุ่งมั่นร่วมกันต่อเสถียรภาพในภูมิภาค ตลอดจนมีความร่วมมือในด้านต่าง ๆ ซึ่งเป็นผลประโยชน์กับทั้งสองประเทศ

            ภายในงานได้มีการเปิดตัวตราสัญลักษณ์ที่ได้รับการคัดเลือกให้ใช้ในโอกาสเฉลิมฉลองความสัมพันธ์ไทย-แคนาดาครบรอบ ๖๕ ปี โดยผู้ที่ออกแบบคือ นายกรกต ชัยยนต์ ผู้สร้างสรรค์ผลงานที่ผสมผสานภาพช้างและใบเมเปิลอันเป็นสัญลักษณ์ประจำชาติของประเทศไทยและแคนาดา สะท้อนถึงคุณค่าร่วมกันและความเป็นหุ้นส่วนที่ยั่งยืนในความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคีตลอดระยะเวลากว่าหกทศวรรษของทั้งสองประเทศ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศและสถานเอกอัครราชทูตแคนาดาประจำประเทศไทยจะใช้ตราสัญลักษณ์ดังกล่าวประกอบกิจกรรมส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ไทย-แคนาดาเพื่อเฉลิมฉลองวาระดังกล่าวตลอดทั้งปี ๒๕๖๙

นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการแสดงโขนซึ่งเป็นนาฏศิลป์ชั้นสูงของไทย โดยนายเบญจมนิทร์ ตาดี (Benjamin Tardif) นักแสดงโขนชาวแคนาดาที่ชื่นชอบศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทย และคณะ เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองความสัมพันธ์ดังกล่าวด้วย

The Launch of the Official Logo Commemorating the 65th Anniversary of the Establishment of Thailand–Canada Diplomatic Relations

On 18 February 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in partnership with the Embassy of Canada in Bangkok, organized the launch of the official logo commemorating the 65^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Canada at Vithes Samosorn, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and was presided by H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Ms. Ping Kitnikone, Ambassador of Canada to Thailand. More than 100 distinguished guests from government agencies, the private sector, academia, civil society, as well as former Thai Ambassadors to Ottawa who have contributed to advancing Thailand–Canada relations, attended the event.

In his opening remarks, the Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his condolences regarding the tragic incident in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, on 10 February 2026. He went on to highlight the cordial and constructive relations between Thailand and Canada since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 8 November 1961. Over nearly 65 years, cooperation between the two countries has expanded across a wide range of areas, including political and security cooperation, trade and investment, as well as education, science, technology, and innovation. He also underscored the importance of people‑to‑people relations, which form a vital foundation for strengthening mutual understanding and fostering closer ties between the two nations. Ambassador of Canada to Thailand emphasized that the partnership between Canada and Thailand has been built on the foundation of friendship, mutual respect, and a commitment to regional stability and continued cooperation in various areas that are mutually beneficial.

The event featured the unveiling of the official logo selected for the 65^th anniversary celebrations. Designed by Mr. Korakot Chaiyon, the logo creatively integrates the elephant and the maple leaf—national symbols of Thailand and Canada—symbolizing shared values and the enduring partnership that have characterized more than six decades of bilateral relations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Canada will use this commemorative logo in activities celebrating this milestone throughout 2026.

In celebration of this special occasion, the programme also included a Khon performance, a classical Thai masked dance drama, by Mr. Benjamin Tardif, a Canadian Khon performer who appreciates Thai arts and culture.
