เมื่อวันที่ 23 กันยายน 2568 นางสาวบาจรีย์ พึ่งพักตร์ รองอธิบดีกรมอเมริกาและแปซิฟิกใต้ พบหารือกับนาย Sini Michael Namori อุปทูตฯ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตรัฐเอกราชปาปัวนิวกินีประจำประเทศไทย

ในโอกาสนี้ นางสาวบาจรีย์ฯ ได้กล่าวต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนทางการทูตปาปัวนิวกินีสู่ประเทศไทย และแสดงความยินดีในการจัดตั้งสถานเอกอัครราชทูตรัฐเอกราชปาปัวนิวกินีประจำประเทศไทย ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือถึงความคืบหน้าของการเสนอชื่อผู้ที่จะมาดำรงตำแหน่งเอกอัครราชทูตรัฐเอกราชปาปัวนิวกินีประจำประเทศไทย รวมถึงการจัดพิธีการเปิดสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ อย่างเป็นทางการ ซึ่งจะเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกิจกรรมการครบรอบ 50 ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทยกับปาปัวนิวกินี ในปี 2569 นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือระหว่างกันในหลายมิติทั้งทวิภาคี อาทิ การท่องเที่ยว การเกษตร ประมง ความร่วมมือเพื่อการพัฒนา และการพัฒนาทรัพยากรมนุษย์ รวมถึงความร่วมมือในระดับภูมิภาค โดยเฉพาะในกรอบ Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) และ Thailand-Pacific Island Countries Forum (TPIF)

On 23 September 2025, Ms. Bacharee Puengpak, Deputy Director-General, Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, met with Mr. Sini Michael Namori, Chargé d'affaires, Embassy of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea in Thailand.

On this occasion, Ms. Bacharee Puengpak welcomed the diplomatic delegation to Thailand and congratulated on the establishment of the Embassy of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea in Thailand. Both sides discussed the progress of the nomination of the Papua New Guinean Ambassador to Thailand, as well as the ceremony to officially open the Embassy in Thailand, which is one of the activities to celebrate 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Papua New Guinea in 2026. Furthermore, the meeting also included an exchange of views on various aspects of bilateral cooperation such as tourism, agriculture, fisheries, development cooperation, and human resources development, as well as regional fora including Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) and Thailand-Pacific Island Countries Forum (TPIF).
