On 24 March 2023, the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs (Latin America Division), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in collaboration with the Embassies of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) in Bangkok, will organize the Third Thailand-LAC Seminar Series, entitled "Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy: Pathways to Enhanced Partnerships between Thailand and Latin America and the Caribbean", in hybrid format, on Friday, during 08:00 - 14:00 hrs., at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel. The Seminar is aimed at exploring ways to enhance economic cooperation as well as trade and investment opportunities between Thailand and the Latin American and Caribbean countries, while advancing sustainability and inclusive objectives, through the application of the BCG Economy model, Thailand's national agenda and APEC2022 theme.

At its opening session, Mrs. Pornpimol Kanchanalak, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, will give a keynote address. Two thematic discussions will be followed. On Panel Discussion I, entitled “Business outlook: How Latin America and the Caribbean countries are transitioning and adopting policies that are environmentally-friendly and sustainable, which in Thailand is known as the
Bio-Circular-Green Economy”
, representatives of GRULAC will share with participants
up-to-date information on the post-pandemic economic outlook of Thailand and LAC with the objective of building up confidence to pursue business opportunities in the region. On Panel Discussion II, representatives from the leading Thai private sector will discuss the topic of “Looking beyond challenges: How can Thai businesses utilize the BCG Economic Model to enhance Thailand - Latin America and the Caribbean partnerships?” Featured business representatives in the discussion include Dr. Chanintr Chalisarapong, President, Thai Tuna Industry Association, Mr. Niwat Athiwattananont, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), SCG Chemicals Pub Co., Ltd.,  Mr. Yash Lohia, Chairman of ESG Council, Indorama Ventures Pub Co., Ltd. , Mr. Rawee Boonsinsukh, Executive Vice President, Innovation and new S-Curve Business Development, Bangchak Corporation Pub Co., Ltd.,  Dr. Savanit Boonyasuwat, Working Team, BCG Model, The Federation of Thai Industries and Mr. Nophol Techaphangam, Founder & CEO, Nornnorn.

Through these interactive panel discussions, the Seminar will provide constructive space to learn of relevant policies in the Latin American and Caribbean region, as well as for sharing and comparing first-hand experiences from industries and businesses that have adopted the BCG model in Thailand and LAC, allowing participants to gain insights into executing business plans and develop partnerships between Thailand and LAC in the BCG-related industries. More importantly, the Third Thailand- LAC Seminar Series will be an ideal venue for creating networks and partnership of like-minded businesspeople interested in exchanging of imports and exports between Thailand and LAC markets.
